Prophetic word for 2012

You may remember that in 2011, the prophetic word was that there would be times of challenge that would affect all of us to one degree or another. They would either bring a change to our lives or they would bring problems. The difference being in where we stand with the Father. Either we serve Him in sincerity and in truth or we don't, a very simple choice that we can make for ourselves.

I believe we have the ability to be a very fickle people. As the calendar year moves from one digit to another we want everything to automatically change and give us something different. However, in truth, I do not hear God saying that this will change in the way that we would like to see it change. The year of 2012 will still carry challenges for us and will require us to make the same choices for ourselves.

Many of the challenges that we will face will not be caused by God; instead they will be man made, just the same as they were last year. The financial crisis that most of the world has been coping with is a typical example. It is, in every real sense, a product of man’s greed. This is not a judgement from God; it is our Father allowing man to have free will in what he does.

And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. (Romans 8:29)

The challenge that we face is how we cope with the situation. If we allow it to bring us closer to the Father in sincerity and in truth, it does not present a problem to us that is insurmountable. If we will allow Him to, the Father will guide us through all of the challenges that we may face and, at the same time, demonstrate His favour in our lives.

For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome. For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God? (1 John 5:3-5)

However, having said that, this new year will not be exactly the same as the last year. I believe that God will use this time to bring change into peoples lives. That change will not come in terms that are easily recognisable by man’s expectations such as: prosperity, stature and the favour of men. Instead, it will come in the form of God’s mandate upon His people who will honour His holy name.

I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them. (Ezekiel 36:27)

God does not say that He will do this to raise men up in this world, He says that “I will do this for My holy name’s sake”. (Ezekiel 36:22) In this year, He will both give new mandates and even re-define the mandates to His people who will serve Him in sincerity and in truth. This will not be limited to those in a single church or churches, rather it will be released upon individual people who are prepared to face the spiritual challenge of doing the will of God. And people will again begin to see signs and wonders that will astound the world.
